So now that I have bombarded the blog with nothing but pictures...trying to keep up is hard going due to spotty internet access...I will continue to post as many pictures as possible and try to give a bit of commentary when I have a chance. You'll have to wait for the full story when we get home. But so far...
Edinburgh ~
Very old...they keep it that way on purpose too. No billboards, very minimal advertisements (mostly on the buses) New construction is kept to old lines and colors, very muted. They have all the amenities, but they are not flashed in neon. Kind people, very helpful. Very easy to navigate. Could have spent a week just in the museum...museums are free in Scotland. Weather was dry and cool, nice!
Glasgow ~
We got rain about halfway to Glasgow...more of a misty, light shower...first thing I noticed was all the billboards. Very modern city, skyscrapers a mix of old and new architecture. We walked to the river Clyde and back to the bus station, then spent some time just people watching. The trip to Belfast was awesome although we had pretty much drained the camera battery taking pictures, so we didn't get any of the ferry, etc...we will on the way back to Scotland tomorrow.
Belfast ~
Todd has chatted up most of the others staying here at the B & B and has wrangle a visit to County Down. I stayed back to finish the laundry that they have allowed us to do here, and to finish catching up on blogging and getting photos uploaded. And to rest...we have clocked a whole lot of miles, and my feet hurt! A little rest now will set me up for lots more in the coming days. We are making notes of places we want to come back and see...so much to do and so little time...
Love all the pictures. The buildings are beautiful. Glad to hear to are having a good time!
